Sarasota County Emergency Services shared wildfire prevention steps meant to help residents protect their homes.

In a post made June 14, the county said residents can create a safety zone of up to 100 feet around their homes.

The post also advised people to remove pine needles and dry leaves from around their homes and to keep woodpiles at least 30 feet away from their homes.
