The Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County and Sarasota County have finalized an updated service agreement, reinforcing their 22-year partnership. The FY26 County Contract and public budget were approved this week with a unanimous 5–0 vote by the Board of County Commissioners.

The agreement was part of a presentation that highlighted several new initiatives launching this year. The initiatives aim to improve quality of life, facilitate partnerships that enhance sustainability, support the county's strategic plan, integrate EDC into planning initiatives, and include the EDC in vulnerability assessments.

Officials acknowledged the significance of the continued public/private partnership as a foundation for future economic growth and opportunities in Sarasota County.
