Sarasota County FD Introduces New Step Plan

The Sarasota County Fire Department has announced a step plan for firefighter and emergency medical personnel. Firefighter/EMTs will progress through 11 steps with starting pay at $56,784 and a top step of $87,759. Firefighter/Paramedics will also have 11 steps, ranging from $76,784 to $107,759. Longevity pay is provided in addition to these amounts.

The department is inviting applications for a variety of roles including operations in marine, special, EMS bike teams, and positions in the Honor Guard. There are also opportunities for career advancement and education reimbursement.
